Abrogate

It means: 
 To put an end to something.  Also: To end a law

Daily use: 
We will abrogate the project.  It is costing too much money.

ab (reminds of)  =  abort or end
ro (reminds of)  =  row or an item on a list
gate (reminds of)  =  gate, to lock behind a gate
Abort the row and lock it behind the gate.
End the item and lock it away forever.
