Circumlocution

Circumlocution

<sir-kom-low-qew-shun>

redundancy; verbage; wordiness;

saying many words to confuse the listener on purpose.

The boy used circumlocution to confuse his teacher.

Memory trick:
We get out of a circumstance with locomotion.

At work:
I used circumlocution because I did not remember my notes.
